The Royal City Big Band, composed of some of the Golden Triangle area's most experienced and creative jazz musicians is part of this exciting movement.

Formed in 1997 and based on the 1940s-style Swing big band, The Royal City Big Band is a 17 piece ensemble including trumpets; trombones; saxophones; rhythm and vocals. Our featured vocalist is Jane Adair.

The repertoire of the Royal City Big Band is truly varied and incorporates styles for everyone's musical palette. Jive, boogie woogie, swing jazz, Latin, various uptempo styles of blues music are all part of our programming. The band features authentic arrangements of big band dance standards made famous by Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Tommy Dorsey and other leaders of the swing era.
